Upgrades

Following its purchase in June, 2002, the new owner determined that she was under equipped. Of particular concern was the lack of redundancy in her systems. Myeerah's systems were significantly upgraded. Among the major upgrades were:

            ● Installed an A/Sea 36Kw power management system, gives access to shore power world-wide

            ● Installed second units of Furuno radar, VHF radio, GPS, and Windows/Nobeltec chartplotter

            ● Installed two satellite telephones (one Iridium-worldwide, one SeaTel-US & Caribbean)

            ● Installed satellite internet service

            ● Installed cell phone service with booster, connected to internal 10-station phone system

            ● Installed  KVH Tracvision 6 Satellite TV system

-- 42" plasma TV in salon with satellite receiver and DVD/VCR player

-- TV with satellite receiver and DVD/VCR player in each stateroom and in crew quarters

            ● Installed USCG Class II waste treatment system, approved for discharge in U.S. coastal waters

            ● Added second tender (Nautica 15' Widebody with 60HP 4-stroke Yamaha)

            ● Added full medical kit, including defibrillator

            ● Replaced galvanized steel anchors with polished stainless steel 250-pound anchors

            ● Painted blue hull in 2005 (5 coats primer over the gelcoat, U.S. Paints Awl-Grip)

Improvements

A number of design errors were found and corrected. The supply of parts for original Italian equipment, especially equipment customized for Ferretti, has been a serious problem. Neither Ferretti nor its U.S. distributors (originally Allied Richard Bertram and, now, Marine Max) provided support in either design correction or parts supply. The owner determined that the only solution was to undertake design corrections and to replace all Italian systems having inadequate parts availability with American systems for which replacement parts are readily available. Myeerah is now a highly reliable Americanized vessel. Among the improvements are:

            ● Reshaped garage door to allow it to come down to level (Ferretti design error)

    ● Redesigned engine room ventilation system to provide adequate air flow (Ferretti design error)

            ● Replaced stabilizer system (parts for the original Italian system were unavailable)

            ● Added second engine room fire control system (original can not be serviced in the U.S.)

            ● Replaced 1300 pound Besenzoni crane with 1600 pound Quick-Lift crane (Besenzoni unreliable/unserviceable)

            ● Rebuilt both engines at 1300 hours using new-style fuel injector tips and intake valves (MAN engine design error)
